Problem I: Tell Us Apart
Monday, October 12, 2009

Question: What do you hope to learn in your time in RP, and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Response: I think that being able to be in RP is an opportunity. I find that RP is a very good training ground for all of us, regardless of what diploma you are taking. This might be due to the approach that RP has taken to train their students. In RP, we use PBL. This allows students to have the freedom to bring forth and put forth their ideas to the rest of their classmates instead of sitting in a lecture and listen to the teacher talk. We are able to have our own set of approach and thinking towards a problem and this builds us up when we are going out to work in the society. Many a times, employers look for employees who are problem solvers. There are different situations that may happen in the company unexpectedly. Hence, it is essential for us to be able to handle these situations in order for you to be in any high post in the company. This, I think is one point that most students missed out when they are making a choice of which institution they should be in. Coming back to the topic, I hope to be able to build up my basics in the area that I would like to major in. As you know, I am a Pharmaceutical Science student. Hence, in this area, there are different things that you need to memorise.

I hope that in RP, I would be able to have a strong foundation in Pharmaceutical Science region before I move on to further my studies in the years to come. The approach at RP, I find that I would be able to do so. There are different problems that we would face every day that is similar to the working life in future. No matter where you are working, be it in a fast food restaurant or a hospital, there would definitely be the same kind of problem that you are facing in RP in terms of being unable to work in teams or it seems that it is not possible for you to work with a person. Hence, at RP, you would definitely be confronted with all these issues and would therefore, be prepared to face it in the future.

In 5 years time, I think I see myself as the Assistant Manager of Burger King Whopper Bar and a student that is in the process of pursuing a degree in a local university or even an overseas university, depending on my GPA. There are still a lot of things for me to remember and even refresh my memory on when I move on. There are still a lot of things that I would be required to learn if I were to want to be the Assistant Manager of Burger King Whopper Bar. Also, there are still a lot of things that I would need to improve on in terms of how I do things and how I teach and train people. There are still lots to learn from my Assistant Manager and Shift Coordinators now as I’m still very new in training people since I was just “promoted” to the Team Leader position. As for my studies, I feel that I have the potential to do better as the day pass. Hence, it is still possible for me to get into a university, be it local or international. Although I do not have fantastic result for my last semester, I believe that if I work harder, not slack so much, I should be able to obtain my desired grade for my GPA and make it to university to obtain my degree.

P.s. My paragraphing may seems weird coz I dunno where my original document went :D
